We stayed in a Secret House in a Greater Manchester village and it felt like we were on the set of Love Island
It may have all the feels of a Manchester mill town, but this place would give that villa in Mallorca a run for its money.
When it comes to catching up with old friends, it's the people that matter, not the place. But give a group of mums the chance to meet up in a luxury cottage and nobody's going to turn that down.
I say cottage, but it was actually a rather grand stone built three floor townhouse that greeted us when we arrived in the little village of Greenfield in Saddleworth, Oldham - a grade II listed one no less.
We'd seen some photos and it was obvious that we'd be far from roughing it during our brief stay. We did enough of that in our university days, so it's no surprise that 25 years on, we prefer our home comforts.
We weren't quite prepared for the level of luxury that awaited us though.
